EXCLUSIVE TRANSIT ZONE AND CONTROL AREA
Vessels with a length equal or higher than 30 metres have right of way over other vessels. Furthermore ships sailing downstream have priority over those sailing upstream. Crossings from coast to coast, head on situations, overtaking and anchoring are prohibited, unless unforeseen or unavoidable circumstances. Before entering into the Control Area, vessels must establish communications through VHF with the control station.  Mariners are advised not to anchor and carry out operations within the Control Area.
