TRAFFIC SEPARATION SCHEME AND NAVIGATION THROUGH THE STRAIT OF ISTANBUL

A) All vessels passing through the Strait of Istanbul shall navigate within the established Traffic Separation
Schemes in compliance with the Rule-10 of the International Regulations for Preventing Collisions at Sea.

B) For detailed information refer to Turkish Straits Navigation Guide.

C) All vessels navigating at the approaches and through the Strait of Istanbul shall contact to the Vessel Traffic
Services Center via VHF channels given below.
	
	Working........Sector Turkeli............Channel 11
		       Sector Kandilli...........Channel 12
	               Sector Kadikoy............Channel 13
	               Sector Marmara............Channel 14
	Pilot....................................Channel 71

D) Foreign warships passing through the Turkish Straits are subject to the Montreux Convention dated 20 July 1936.
