FISH AGGREGATING DEVICES Mariners should exercise caution when navigating in these waters as FADs have been moored in outlying deepwater locations. The FADs are unlit: concentrations of fishing vessels may be found in their vicinity. CORAL HEADS Due to the complexity of the coral bathymetry, depths shoaler than those charted may exist away from the main channels. CURRENTS The South Sub-Tropical Current predominates over the whole area of this chart, with generally west to south-westerly sets of up to a knot in rate. Sets are however variable. In the shallower water and near the island coasts currents will be greatly influenced by the wind, and will tend to follow the trend of the coasts.
