PARTICIPATING VESSELS
Reporting is compulsory for:
•   all vessels of 300 GT or more
•   all vessels, including tows, with a total length of 
    over 45 m

VESSEL TRAFFIC SERVICES (VTS)
The VTS provide traffic information and other relevant 
information such as passage limitations, ice conditions 
etc.
The master or the officer in command of the vessel shall
cooperate with the VTS and, as far as possible, follow
the advice and instructions from the VTS centre.

VHF WATCH
Vessels shall maintain a continuous listening watch within
the VTS area on VHF Ch 14, if possible, also on VHF Ch 16
and respond to the VTS.

REPORTING
Participating vessels shall report in English on VHF Ch 14
as follows:

A. On entering the VTS-area and just before departure
or movement from a berth or anchorage within 
the area stating:
1) Vessel's name  4) Intended route    7) Air Draught
2) Call sign      5) Destination
3) Position       6) Draught
Vessels are not permitted to leave a quay or anchorage
in the VTS area without clearance from the VTS-centre.

B. When passing the reporting points, on arrival at the
quay, on changing route, on anchoring, on being involved 
in an incident such as grounding or collision, on the
occurrence of any defects which might affect the 
safe navigation and manoeuvrability of the vessel stating:
1) Vessel's name
2) Position
3) Destination
4) Reason for reporting

Vessels shall be prepared to state additional information
upon request from the VTS-centre at any time.

OTHER VESSELS
Vessels with a gross tonnage greater than 20, a length
greater than 15 meters and smaller registered fishing 
vessels, should report if their voyage or activity may
influence other vessels safe passage or manoeuvring.
Vessels with no obligation to report but fitted with VHF
should maintain continuous listening watch on the VTS
working channel.
