A barra do porto de Vila do Conde encontra-se assoreada, constituindo perigo para a navegação, com sondas reduzidas próximas dos zeros metros numa extensão até 50 jardas do molhe sul.
Apresenta bancos de areia em constante evolução originando alterações significativas das sondas reduzidas e da largura do canal de navegação.
A barra está condicionada a embarcações com calado superior a 2 metros. 
A prática da barra só está autorizada no período compreendido entre 2 horas antes e até 2 horas após a preia-mar. 
Toda a navegação devera tomar as devidas precauções na entrada e saída da barra, obtendo o conhecimento local inequívoco e ajustando a navegação aos condicionamentos identificados.


Vila do Conde entrance harbour is silted, becoming a danger to navigation, with reduced sounding values near zero meters in an extension up to 50 yards of the south mole.
It has permanent evolving shoals, causing significant changes of the reduced sounding values as well as the width of the navigation channel. 
The entrance harbour is conditioned to vessels with a draft of more than 2 meters.
The practice of the harbour entrance is only allowed in the period between 2 hours before and until 2 hours after high tide. 
All navigation must take the necessary precautions in entering and exiting the harbour, obtaining local reliable information and adjusting the navigation to the identified restrictions.
