OILFIELD DEVELOPMENT AREAS

Numerous structures, usually carrying lights, other
unlit objects and submerged obstructions, sometimes
marked by buoys, exist in the Oilfield Development
Areas. As these installations are not all charted,
special caution should be exercised by vessels
navigating in the vicinity. The Government of India has
established a 500 metre safety zone around each
installation. Mariners should not enter these zones.
