CURRENTS

The currents are variable. From May to September
westerly sets of the South Equatorial current
predominate, with rates up to about 2kn in the
open ocean, and up to 3kn through Isumrud Strait.
From November to February, however, the North West
Monsoon reverses this trend. See also Sailing
