TIDAL STREAMS AND CURRENTS
The stream and current in the Gulf of Papua are influenced by
the discharge from the rivers and prevailing wind, with rates
up to 1.5 knots being experienced. During the North West
Monsoon, south easterly sets may predominate with rates up
