TREATY ON BOUNDARY BETWEEN MEXICO AND BRITISH HONDURAS HELD ON 8 JULY 1893 AND ADDITIONAL CONVENTION HELD APRIL 7, 1897.
 ARTICLE I.
 “Its agreed between Mexico and its British Majesty that the boundary between such Republic and the Colony of British Honduras was and is, as follows:
Beginning in Boca de Bacalar Chica, strait that separes the State of Yucatan from Ambergris Cay  and its adjoin islands, the boundaries runs in the middle of the channel between Ambergris Cay  and the Continent towards southwest until the parallel 18° 9´North, and then towards northwest, equidistant from two cays, as indicated on the annex map, until the parallel 18° 10´ North twisting towards west on going the neighboring bay, first in the same direction until the meridian 88° 2´ West, then runs towards North parallel 18° 25´ North, again runs towards west until the meridian 88° 18´ West, following the same meridian until latitude 18° 28 1/2' North, whatever enter the mouth of Rio Hondo, which follows from the deepest of the channel, passing to the west of Island Albión heading Arroyo Azul until it crosses the meridian of salto de Garbutt in a point to the noth of the intersection of the boundaries of Mexico, Guatemala and British Honduras, and from that point runs towards south until latitude 17° 49´ North, boundaries between the Mexican Republic and  Guatemala; leaving to the north in the Mexican territory called Rio Snosha or Xnohha”.
