It is declared a Protected Natural Area, with the character of a Sanctuary, the area known as Beach adjacent to the town called Rio Lagartos, located in the municipality of Tizimin, Rio Lagartos and San Felipe, in the state of Yucatan. The area is made up of three polygons corresponding to the buffer zone. These areas are considered to be fragile and sensitive environmental systems, for which the general public must abide by the provisions contained in the Decree published on July 16, 2002 in the Official Gazette of the Federation. Currently without a published Management Program.
