It is declared a Protected Natural Area, with the character of National Park, the area known as Revillagigedo, located in the Mexican Pacific. The area is integrated by a general polygon corresponding to the marine portion and the insular terrestrial portion corresponding to San Benedicto Island, Roca Partida Island, Socorro Island, and Clarion Island of the core zone. Within the general polygon there are four buffer zones called Playa Norte Isla Socorro, Antena Repetidora Sector Naval Sector Isla Socorro, Sector Naval Isla Socorro and Estacion Naval Isla Clarion. These areas are considered fragile and sensitive environmental systems, so the general public user, must be subject to the provisions of the respective Management Program and the provisions contained in the Decree published on November 27th, 2017 in the Official Gazette of the Federation. Natural Protected Area for biodiversity conservation with International Designation: RAMSAR site with registration number 1357 and World Heritage in the year 2016.
