It is declared a Protected Natural Area, with the character of Biosphere Reserve, the area known as Pacific Islands of the Baja California Peninsula, located off the west coast of the states of Baja California and Baja California Sur.  These areas are considered fragile and sensitive environmental systems, so the general public must abide by the provisions contained in the Decree published in the Official Gazette of the Federation.december 7th, 2016.
