Is established permanent wildlife haven the area known as Rio Lagartos located in the localities of Rio Lagartos, Coloradas, Musulnik, Punta Meco, El Cuyo and Punta Caracol in the municipalities of San Felipe, Rio Lagartos and Tizimin in the State of Yucatan into the extension total of 47,840 acres, according with the Official Gazette of the Federation on June 26 of 1979.
