It's declared protected natural area with the character of area of protection of flora and fauna, the region know as " Laguna Madre and Delta Del Río Bravo ", located in the municipalities of Matamoros, San Fernando and Soto La Marina, in the state of Tamaulipas. The general public must adhere to the administrative provisions and rules of the Management Program established for said area, according to decree published in the Official Gazette of the Federation of April 14th. 2005.
