It is declared a Protected Natural Area, with the character of State Reserve, the area known as Dzilam, located in the municipalities of Dzilam de Bravo and San Felipe, in the State of Yucatan. The area is integrated by a polygon corresponding to the buffer zone, within which there is a core zone. These areas are considered fragile and sensitive environmental systems, so the general public must abide by the provisions of the respective Management Program and the provisions contained in the Official Gazette of the State of Yucatan published on january 25, 1989.
