It is declared a Protected Natural Area, with the character of Biosphere Reserve, the area known as the Deep Mexican Pacific, located in the Pacific Ocean, off the coasts of the States of Nayarit, Jalisco, Colima, Michoacan de Ocampo, Guerrero, Oaxaca and Chiapas. This area is considered fragile and sensitive environmental systems, for which the general public must abide by the respective Management Program and the provisions contained in the Decree published in the Official Journal of the Federation on December 7th, 2016.
