It is declared a Protected Natural Area, with the character of Biosphere Reserve, the area known as Mexican Caribbean; located in the Municipalities of Mujeres Island, Benito Juarez, Tulum and off the coasts of Morelos Port, Solidaridad, Cozumel, Bacalar and Othon P. Blanco, in the State of Quintana Roo. These areas are considered to be fragile and sensitive environmental systems for which the general public must abide by the provisions of the respective Management Program and the provisions contained in the Decree of the Official Gazette of the Federationon December 7th, 2016.
