CURRENTS

Currents off the east coast of Sri Lanka are variable. During the
months of January to April they are likely to set towards the
shore between the latitudes 6deg 30min N, and 8deg 00min N. Mariners are
warned accordingly.

The currents are influenced mainly by the winds and change
according to the monsoons. See also Admiralty Sailing
