LACAM HARBOUR-4013

	TadmaJuru, narrow and deep passage, separates Peel Island from Havelock Island to S. Shoals, extend up to 2 cables offshore in some places on both sides of the channel. A detached 1.3m patch lies E of Stowe Point, the N end of the Havelock Island. Stowe Point is marked by a beacon. Yulutang, a conspicuous hill, 167m high, stands 2¾ miles SE of Stowe Point. TadmaJuru is marked by beacons on both sides. 

	Havelock Island, the largest of the Ritchie’s Archipelago, lies ½ miles S of Peel Island. There is an L - shaped jetty with a dolphin close SE of its head, situated at Jetty Point the NE extremity of the Island 11 cables SE of Stowe Point; there is a depth of 5.2m at its head, Foul ground extends upto 1¼ miles E from its NE coast, to within a short distance of the ridge which extends S from Pilot Reef.
	Rosamund Shoal, a narrow ridge of coral heads almost awash and steep-to lies with its S end about ½ mile NNW of Stowe Point. The shoal is difficult to distinguish. The Narrow Channel between this shoal and Peel Island should not be navigated.
	A good anchorage can be obtained off Jalebar, 2½ miles SSW of Stowe Point.
	Melville (Doone Point) about 4 miles SW of Stowe Point, is the W point of Havelock Island, Havelock (Yoto), 1¼ miles SE of Melville Point is a conspicuous hill, it is 164m high. 

        Directions

	Vessels approaching TadmaJuru from W should pass S of Rosamund Shoal on E course. The course should be altered to 123º, when 1½ cables off the SW end of Peel Island, thus maintaining a mid-channel course. When close to the E entrance of the channel, course should be altered to 073º towards the reef fringing the SW coast of John Lawrence Island (Parkiterema).
	This reef is usually visible, and when close to it, alter course to 147º, which leads along the W edge of the reef then E of Pilot Reef lying 1 mile SSW of Runnymede Point, the S end of John Lawrence island.
	Sail Rock, 9m high and resembling a sail from some bearings, lies close to SSE coast of Havelock Island.
	Between Stowe point and Melville Point, about 3¾ miles SSW, the coast is slightly indented into a bight fringed by a reef. From Melville Point to the S end of Havelock Island, the coastal reef extends upto 5 cables. White cliffs, above 50m high, line the S end of the Island.
	Tadma Bay lies between the SE coast of Peel Island and the SW coast of John Lawrence Island. The bay affords good anchorage sheltered from NE. Pilot Reef, previously described, has a least depth of 3m. Tadma Bay forms the S entrance of ParangaJuru, a narrow channel separating John Lawrence Island and Peel Island, and also the E entrance of TadmaJuru.
	Lacam Harbour lies NE of Stowe Point at the W entrance of TadmaJuru.
	Sea Planes will operate during day time hours between Port Blair and Lacam harbour.  All vessels are to exercise caution. Port control tower will inform about flying operation on CH 16 to all vessels.

	Golung Ma (Prince’s Inlet) which is shallow lies 5 miles SE of Melville Point.
