CHART 4165 BOMPOKA ISLAND

1	Bompoka Island, 204m high, lies 2.7 miles NE of the S end of Tarasa Island from which it is separated by a channel with a depth of above 50m. There are few inhabitants. A light is exhibited on the S coast of the island from a red metal framework tower with white bands, at an elevation of 16m.
2	Anchorage may be obtained by vessels with local knowledge off Poahat, on the W side of the island, in depths of 26m about ¼ mile offshore, with the village in line with the N peak of the island bearing 040°. Depths decreases rapidly and caution is necessary when anchoring.
