1	Tarasa Island (8° 15'N, 93° 07'E), crescent shaped and sparsely inhabited, lies with its N point 6 ½ mile SE of Chowra Island, From a distant it appears as two islands its central part being lower than its N or S parts; the N part rises to an elevation of 250 m. Reefs extend from all, except its E, side. It is not advisable to visit the island during the SW monsoon.

2	Hinam (8° 14'.8 N, 93° 05'.8E), a village near the middle of the W coast, is only visible from seaward on NE bearings. 



3	Anchorage may be obtained in depths of 11 to 26 m   close offshore at a distance of 1.4 miles in a SSW direction from Hinam, local knowledge is necessary.


4	Landing is not always practicable, even during the NE monsoon, but when landing is unsafe at Hinam, it can often be effected through an opening in the reef off Laksi, 3.8 miles SE off Hinam. However, this village consists of only a few huts lying among trees, and is not easily identified from seaward.

5	Anchorage in a depth of 26m, coral and coarse sand, may be obtained SSW of Laksi and about ½ mile outside the coastal reef.

6	Bangala (8° 18'.3 N, 93° 07'.3E), is a village on the E side of the island about 2.5 miles S of its NE point. Two lattice towers one of BSNL and other Doordarshan with red and white horizontal bands are located near Bangala village.

7	Damaged Jetty	A damaged concrete jetty lies near Bangala village about 4.2 miles north west of Saphed Balu point. The jetty is submerged during high water and approach to the jetty is fouled with rocks. A spherical mooring buoy painted yellow is present north of the damaged jetty. A second damaged metallic jetty lies near Saphed Balu Point. The outer edge of the jetty is separated from main portion which is submerged during high water. The jetty is not approachable even by small boats. A spherical mooring buoy painted yellow exists north of the damaged jetty.

8	Anchorage may be obtained 4½ cables offshore with the NE point of the island bearing 006°. This is not a safe anchorage, but there is a good Landing place at Bangala.

9	There is no safe anchorage off the village of Kenviya, 3½ miles S of Bangala where there are depths above 50 m about ½ mile offshore.
