CHART 4102		WEST ISLAND

West Island (Nariyal Tikri) (13º 35' N, 92º 53'.5 E), thickly wooded 17m high, lies 3 mile NNW of Cape Thornhill. A reef fringes the island. Between West Island and the North end of North Andaman Islands are a number of shoals.

White Cliff Island (Tutta Tikri) (13º 32'.2 N, 92º 52'.6 E), is a 19m high, steep islet, with 21m high cliffs, dark coloured at its N end. It lies about 1.6 miles W of Thornhill Island and is fringed by a reef at its S end A rock awash lies close SE of the Island.

Buchanan Bay, 1 mile S of Cape Thornhill, has a drying patch at its entrance. ElizabethBaylies close S of Buchanan bay.

Reef Island (Balu Tikri) (13º 30'.5 N, 92º 52'.4 E, 26m high, lying about 1½ miles S of White Cliff Island, is covered with trees.  A reef fringes the island except on its E side which is steep-to.

Pocock Island (13º33'.85N, 93º03'.4E), 1.7 miles SE of Cape Price, is 55m high and wooded. A rock awash, with a rock drying 1.2m about ¼ mile S of it, lies at the end of foul ground 6 cables S from PocockIsland.

A 5.5m patch, lies 4 miles S of Pocock Island, is the outermost rocky patch off this stretch of co  ast.

Ranger Reef (13º 39'.3 N, 93º 06'.2 E) consists of a group of shallow patches, the shallowest of which is a 1.8m patch, lying 2 miles E of  the N part of East Island. A 8m patch, lies within ¾ mile N of Ranger Reef. In heavy weather reef is marked by breakers but at other times it cannot be seen, even from left. Tide rips occur near the reef and between it and the N point of East Island.

Cleugh Rocks (13º 37’ N, 92º 58’.5 E), awash at high water, lie 1.6 miles SSW of the SW point of Landfall Island. They consist of a reef drying 1.9m in its W part.
