FUSILIER CHANNEL(NANCOWRY STRAIT) - 4013
Fusilier Channel (Nancowry Strait), seperating Neill Island (11° 50'N, 93° 04'E) from the S end of Havelock Island, is about 21/2 miles wide and has depths of 14 m in the fairway; but a small 10.4 m coral patch lies at its W end and vessels should pass N of it.

Neill Island lies on the S side of Fusilier Channel. Prominent white cliffs rise steeply from the sea and a 10 m high rock lies close offshore.
The N coast of Neill Island is fringed with reefs with some foul ground at the W end close off which lie some detached patches with depths of less than 5.5 m.
Neill Island Pier (11°  50’N, 93° 02’E) extends 300 m NE between drying reefs on the North side of the island; there are depths of more than 2 m on the SE side at the head of the pier but there is a drying patch on the NW side. A flagstaff stands at the root of the pier.
Murugan temple, 12 m high and conspicuous, stands 11/4 cables SW of the pier; this temple in line bearing 2120 with coconut stump, standing near the flagstaff, leads to the head of the pier.
Banana Hill tree, which reaches an elevation of 74 m, is conspicuous standing behind a school building 4 cables W of Neill Island pier.
