Nizamzpatnam Anchorage - 3008

Nizampatnam Lighthouse (White tower, Red bands, 30 m in height) (15º 53'.02N, 80º 38'.30E) became fully operational in July 2004.
Anchorage.An open anchorage 5 miles S of Nizampatnam may be obtained in depth of 9m, the bottom is soft mud and sand. 
Storm Signals are displayed at the port office signal station, the brief system is used. 

Nizampatnam (15º 53'N, 80º 38.3'E) Nizampatnam is a small fishing harbour. The entrance in to the channel is possible during high water only for vessels with draughts of upto 1.2m. This is due to the existence of a bar with about 0.6m least depth over it, which extends across the channel. The entry in to channel is further subject to weather on account of the presence of breakers over the bar during rough weather. Small quantities of fuel and water are supplied in barrels. Trading and shipping activities are negligible. Nizampatnam is well connected by road to Bapatla (approx 20 Kms). There is a small port office however there is hardly any commercial activity.
