UNCHARTED DANGER
The depiction of reefs, rocks and dangers within the atolls is based on satellite imagery, aerial photographs and unreliable old surveys. It is known that many uncharted dangers exist and the positions and shapes of many of the reefs are different from that shown. Mariners should navigate with extreme caution.

CURRENTS
Currents in this region are driven by the seasonal monsoons. From December to March, they set Westward in response to the NE monsoon whilst from May to October, they set East and Southeast in response to the SW monsoon. Rates are generally 1 to 1,5 Knots, however both rates and sets are liable to vary within seasons.

OMISSION OF CERTAIN NAVIGATIONAL AIDS AND WRECKS
Certain lights, wrecks, buoys and beacons have been omitted from this chart; for detail  of  these,  the  larger  scale  charts  and  List  of Lights should be consulted.
