CURRENTS
The currents are of monsoonal origin but tend to follow the trend of the coast. In December and January, the sets are north - westerly with rates of upto 1,5 kn. In July and August, when the SW Monsoon is well established, south - easterly sets with rates of upto 2 kn are experienced. Exceptionally, onshore sets of upto 1,5 kn are experienced during the NE Monsoon and upto 3 kn during the SW Monsoon. For further information see also Sailing Directions, etc.
