OMISSION OF CERTAIN NAVIGATIONAL AIDS AND WRECKS / CURRENTS
Certain lights, wrecks, buoys and beacons have been omitted from this chart; for detail of these, the larger scale charts and the List of Lights should be consulted.

The currents have a seasonal variation related to the monsoon. From February
to September the most frequent set is towards the south-east with the greater
constancy during June to August; during October currents are variable in direction,
but from November to January the most common set is towards the north-west. Rates are mostly less than 1 knot but 2 knot may be encounted at times, mainly during July. August and December. Exceptionally the current has a significant on-shore component. For further information see also sailing Direction.
