The hydrography in this dataset is derived mainly from Portuguese Government charts and is updated for all new information as it becomes available. The Portuguese Hydrographic Institute, the charting authority for the region, have recommended that because the source data was obtained prior to 1974, mariners are advised to obtain the latest information from the appropriate local authorities when navigating in the area.
