DEPTHS

The depiction of reefs and dangers within the Egmont Islands atoll is based on satellite imagery and aerial photography. Mariners should navigate with caution as shoals may be out of position and uncharted shoals may exist. No depth information has been inserted within the atoll due to positioning problems. However, a leadline survey of 1837 showed that navigable channels existed within the atoll with depths up to 23 metres.
