DEEP-DRAUGHT CHANNELS

The channels and deep-water tracks in this area are those recommended by the
Orkney Islands VTS for tankers under pilotage proceeding to or from the Flotta Oil
Terminal. Due to possible tidal effects, vessels may need to steer noticeably
different courses from those shown in order to maintain the recommended
tracks. Radar surveillance of these channels is continuously maintained.
