CURRENTS

Currents in this region are driven by the seasonal
monsoons. From December to March, they set
Westward in response to the Northeast monsoon
whilst from May to October, they set East and
Southeast in response to the Southwest monsoon.
Rates are generally 1 to 1·5 knots, however both
rates and sets are liable to vary with the seasons.
