CURRENTS

Currents are variable with directions and rates depending on the season. From December to May the predominant current flows South-east with an average rate of 0.5 knots. From June to November the flow is generally North-west with an average rate of 0.5 knots. Upwelling has been known to occur in the region of the 200m line.
