GUIANA CURRENT

Throughout the year the Guiana Current enters the
Caribbean Sea in a generally west to north-westerly
direction and rates of up to 3 knots may generally
be expected. Part of it divides off the south coast
of Trinidad and flows north-westward along the
east coast of the island; the other flows westward,
south of Trinidad, to enter the Gulf of Paria. For
