CURRENTS

Seasonal variations in currents conform with the monsoon periods.
From May to September the predominating set is north-eastward, and
from October to April it is south-westward, but with frequent onshore sets. 
Rates are up to 3 knots. Monsoon-driven currents have a considerable degree
of variability and at times run opposite to the predominating direction and
