PROTECTED AREAS

All the islands within Egyptian Red Sea territorial waters are declared Protected Areas. It is forbidden to anchor, fish, cause pollution, leave litter or disturb the marine life within 1 nautical mile of each of these islands.
Furthermore, a permit and the payment of park fees is required before entering the areas around the following islands:
Jaza'ir Jiftun (27° 13ŽN., 33° 57ŽE.)
Al Ikhwan (26° 19ŽN., 34° 51ŽE.)
Abu El Kizan (24° 56ŽN., 35° 52ŽE.)
Jazirat Zabarjad (23° 36ŽN., 36° 12ŽE.)
Rocky Island (23° 34ŽN., 36° 15ŽE.)
