PROTECTED REEFS

Vessels should only use the fixed moorings on or adjacent to
the coral reefs in Egyptian coastal waters between:
a. latitudes 26°37'N and 27°02'N.
b. latitudes 27°08'N and 27°26'·3N.
c. Qad Ibn Haddan (27°47'N, 34°05'E) to the Strait of Tiran,
including those surrounding Jazirat Tiran (27°58'N, 34°33'E),
thence within the Gulf of Aqaba to latitude 29°29'·55N.
Coral reefs in Egyptian Coastal waters south of Ra's Banas
(23°54'N, 35°47'E) and those surrounding the offshore islands of:
Jazirat Zabarjad (23°37'N, 36°12'E)
Jaza'ir Qul'an   (24°21'N, 35°24'E)
Al Ikhwan        (26°19'N, 34°51'E)
are protected. Damage to the coral may lead to prosecution. Except
in an emergency, anchoring on these reefs is prohibited.
