RECONNAISSANCE DATA
The portrayal of the seafloor on this chart is based on two types of
reconnaissance data:
1.  Single depth measurements taken at 2 kilometre intervals.  The shape of
the seafloor between depths is unknown.
2.  Depths from ships' tracks.  In this case the accuracy is uncertain and no
information about depths on either side of the track is available.

MAGNETIC COMPASS
The magnetic compass is useless in this area.
