Vessels should sound a siren (1 long,1 short and 1 long) before entering the east and west channels of lock and follow the signals sent out by the lock traffic signal station. 
Vessels of 500t and above should hang a "K" flag by day and vertically display white on red (when entering) or red on white lights (when departing) at night.
