During northeast monsoon,the current along south coast nearly always sets west-south-westward,generally parallel to the coast.The rate is 18-48 miles daily varying with the wind force,but rapidly in cases of typhoons and storms. During strong southwest monsoon,the current sets east-north-eastward with a rate of 15-22 miles daily.Relatively stronger current pressing toward the coast has been found during the above monsoons.
