During northeast monsoon,the current along south coast nearly always sets west-south-westward,generally parallel to the coast.The rate is 0.8-2knots,varying with the wind force,but rapidly increases in cases of typhoons and storms.During strong southwest monsoon,the current sets east-north-eastward with a rate of 0.6-1knot.Relatively stronger current pressing toward the coast has been found during the above monsoons.
