During northeast monsoon, the current along south coast-nearly always sets west-south-westward generally parallel to the coast. The rate is 18-48M daily varying with the wind force but rapidly increased in cases of typhoons and storms. During strong southwest monsoon the current sets east-north-eastward with a rate of 15-22M daily. Relatively stronger current pressing toward the coast has been found during the above monsoons.
