ECOLOGICAL SITE
The Federal Decree No. 98.864 of 23/01/1990, created the Tamoios Ecological Station, which covers the charts No BR401631, BR401632, BR501636 and BR323100. The ESEC Tamoios has 29 islands, islets, slabs and rocks, besides the marine environment and submerged rocks within the radius of 1 km lenght of the same ones, located in Baía da Ilha Grande, Baía da Ribeira and the Baía de Paraty. Anchoring, fishing, recreational diving and public visitation are prohibited within this protected area.
