HEARD AND MCDONALD ISLANDS (HIMI) MARINE RESERVE
The Territory of Heard Island and the McDonald Islands
(HIMI), an external territory of Australia, is located within the
HIMI Marine Reserve. Vessels may traverse the territorial sea
in innocent passage, but a permit from the Australian
Antarctic Division is required to enter the territorial waters for
the purposes of conducting or supporting an activity in the
Territory. Other restrictions on access and activities may
apply, including under the HIMI Marine Reserve Management
