OVERHEAD HIGH VOLTAGE LINE(500.000 VOLTS).In the vicinity of Guáscara island (approaching km 1228), a three-wire overhead high voltage line (500.000 volts) transports energy from the Yaciretá hydroelectric dam. The intersection over the main navigation branch (left-margin, Corrientes coast), creates a vertical clearance at the lowest point of the catenary of the 45.60 m line related to the zero of the "Puerto de Paso de la Patria" hydrometer. For clearance purposes, a 4.85 m berth, both around and along the line, have to be kept (Guidance for High Voltage Lines, section 7.4), being the available height reduced to the before mentioned zero. In contrast, the intersection of the line over the secondary branch (right-margin, Chaco coast) creates a 53-metre vertical clearance line and a clearance available height reduced to 48.15 m, being the same berth requested and related to the zero of Paso de la Patria.
